How it went
01
The brief
The Atlanta Community Food Bank's existing website was a patchwork of outdated tools, making it difficult for donors to give, volunteers to register, and community members to find food assistance. The backend had no centralised data layer — staff managed donor and volunteer records manually across spreadsheets.
02
What we did
M3CA undertook a full discovery and UX research phase — interviewing staff, volunteers, and community members — before designing and building a purpose-built platform from front to back. The public-facing site features an intuitive food pantry locator, multilingual support (English and Spanish), and a frictionless donation flow with recurring giving options. The staff-facing backend includes a volunteer management portal with shift scheduling, a donor CRM with automated acknowledgement emails, and a real-time impact dashboard showing pounds of food distributed. The entire platform is WCAG 2.1 AA compliant and achieves sub-2-second load times on 3G connections.
03
What happened
Online donations up 56% in the first 90 days. Volunteer sign-ups increased 89%. Staff time on admin reduced by 60% through automation. Sub-2s load on 3G. NPS of 96 from staff and donors. WCAG 2.1 AA certified.
